In 1870 Jules Verne published Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Seas presenting to the world the Nautilus. With this legendary submarine the scientist and explorer captain Nemo was navigating the depths of the sea under the motto "Mobilis in Mobili". Mobile within a changing environment.

As in this motto, the buildings of our cities have internal needs that evolve over the months of the year and the hours of the day, and at the same time they are also immersed in an ever-changing external environment.

How can still architecture provide an appropriate answer in this highly dynamic condition? This project investigated this apparent paradox exploring the deep relationship between human needs and natural resources.

Project developed with the collabration of UrbanMetrix.

Project by: Emanuele Carcano, Adrien Gesulfo, Martino Colombo, Michele Leidi, 2024-2025.
