Digital Fabrication

Digital fabrication is a design and manufacturing workflow in which digital data is derived via computer programming from 3D models and is then directly used to drive manufacturing equipment that create architectural components. In this process the interaction between computer-aided-design and computer-aided-manufacturing is often bidirectional, so that the possibilities for architectural design solutions are also influenced by the new possibilities of numerically controlled production machines such as robotic mills and 3D printers. In our work we use digital fabrication workflows to both widen the design space and to increase efficiencies in production and construction.
